The Mount Pleasant Baptist Church Senior Outreach Ministry was initiated in April 2012. It is in partnership with the Edison Housing Authority, Bridges, a not-for-profit social services organization, and Hands of Hope Food Bank.

Each month the Outreach Ministry provides spiritual nourishment in the forms of scripture, prayer, songs and games and serves a hot nutritional lunch. The social worker from Bridges sponsors informational workshops on health and welfare, and the Hands of Hope Food Bank distributes bagged groceries to each of the participants. This coordinated effort allows the Church to provide a holistic ministry to senior and disabled residents of the Robert E. Holmes Housing complex in Edison. N.J.

Once a month the senior and disabled residents of the complex come together and experience the joy of fellowship and the loving spirit of Jesus the Christ through song, games and laughter. The work of the ten committed and dedicated women comprising the Church Ministry Team represents a faith community that is dedicated in demonstrating God in action to the community through Love (Mark 12:29-33), Friendship and Fellowship (Matthew 9:11) and Witnessing (Acts 1:8).
